While original series creators Infinity Ward brought the series into the modern day, developer Treyarch are setting out to make the definitive historical first-person shooter.
The game is primarily set in the Pacific theatre and has a much more realistic, violent tone requiring less-linear game play than previous Call of Duty installments. You'll struggle to survive Japanese attacks without mastering new gaming skills, like swimming or how to use a flamethrower--a weapon that packs some punch in the fully destructable game world. Also featured is a campaign on the Eastern front, where you take control of a soldier in the Soviet Red Army during the attack on Berlin in the closing stages of the war. The game also includes the series’ first co-op mode, while the competitive multiplayer mode aims to build upon the achievements of Call of Duty 4 and add to the game’s longevity. Key Features

Rating:  - Same As COD4!I fully expected World at War to improve on areas that were weak in Modern Warfare, such as the graphics. However, i found World at War to be almost identical to Modern Warfare, apart from the obvious differences like it's set in World War Two. There have been no improvements in graphics, the campaign seems to follow the same pattern as Modern Warfare; for example, you engage in a sniper mission like in Modern Warfare and have to take out a similar target too. I got it home and found that the single player (what i did of it) was pretty naff and i really didnt like the way the screen split in co-op mode! Multi player online was a bit better, not as good as COD 3 and 4. I didnt really enjoy most of the maps and gave up on it all pretty soon.
