Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Disappointing - 3 reasons not to buy this
My one arrives and it looked great - its has optical out for audio, hdmi out, 2 scarts, Tv ariel - everything look great then it comes to using it. It is great how it tells you the picture quality and strength but there are 3 things which made me instantly send it back:

1) It cannot record 2 programmes simultaneously like HUMAX machines (which are cheaper & better). You can ONLY WATCH the programme currently beuing recorded - you cannot even browse the menu while it is recording ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Annoying and clunky
Just received this unit and ill be returning it today. Needed a cheap replacement for my Humax (which was my 4th PVR) and after reading the reviews decided to try this one. Wish i hadnt, whilst the freeview picture quality is good the user interface belongs in the dark ages, it makes the Humax positively shine.

Large annoying advert aside (which takes up half the screen) the EPG is slow, hard to read and trying to record a programme is a joke (requires 3 ok's and you have to wait ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - General comment on my experience with Panasonic DVD Recorders
I've had three Panasonic DVD recorders in the past few years i.e. one DMR-RES10 and two DMR-ES20 and they each became unuseable just after the manufacturer's guarantee had expired.
No extended warranties had been purchased and the tuner expired on the first and the others became unable to read my disks.
I'd chosen Panasonics because they are one of the very few on the market that are able to record and play DVD-RAM disks.....my favourite for editing because they don't need to be "finalized" ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Ideal first DVD recorder
Have been looking around for a DVD recorder for quite some time and final decided to go with the Panasonic EX768EBK. Have had it now for about 3 weeks and am very happy with the results. Its easy to set up and although i am only using it with an old tv the picture is excelent. When i do eventualy upgrade the tv the recorder has enough features to be compatable with almost any hi Def TV with upscaling to match the performance. Recording is a doddle just select from the freeview listing and it even alows ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A joy to use
I bought this to go with a Panasonic 42" Plasma. The upscaling on DVDs works well and I've no idea how blu-ray could be '4 times better'. The recorder is easy to use and there are significant improvements in this compared with an early model. I particularly like the 'series record' function and the way it saves all the episodes of a series in a group folder with just one click. I had a good experience with the free delivery from Amazon of both items - but had to shop elsewhere for a Cambridge HDMI cable ... Read More
